We celebrate the Russian geodesist Vadim Taranov jubilee at March 19, 2012.

 

Vadim Taranov are working in the Central Research Institute of Geodesy, Aerial Survey and Cartography after his graduation from the Moscow Institute of Engineers of Geodesy and Cartography at 1955 under management of M.S.Molodensky and later of L.P.Pellinen. He has defend his candidate degree on the topic “Earth size and geodetic co-ordinate system orientation determination”. His main scientific fields are the Earth’s gravity field, Earth’s ellipsoid orientation, gravity data treatment, geoid height determination, gravity anomaly catalogue and data base creation, management of territorial geodetic divisions gravimetric work. Hi is the author of more than 40 published works. Vadim Taranov has received Feodosiy Krasovsky Award in 1983. He has a designation of Honoured Geodesist.
