Yuri Olegovich's achievements related to research in the field of modern geodynamics, monitoring of deformation processes in seismically active and oil/gas regions, as well as in areas of particularly important objects, the results of studying the geodynamics of tectonic faults using traditional methods of teresrial geodesy and GNSS are widely known in scientific circles in Russia and abroad.
His scientific interests include a wide range of natural sciences from theoretical descriptions of geophysical processes to the interpretation of geophysical and geodetic observations. In the field of geodesy, he is an unrivaled interpreter of multiple and continuous geodetic observations in areas of living faults. One of his most important scientific results is the discovery of super-intensive deformations of mobile tectonic faults, their formal classification and theoretical understanding of a new geophysical process.
As the editor-in-chief and member of the editorial boards of highly rated journals, Yuri Olegovich has always been distinguished by his fundamental scientific and methodological training, clear position, promising view of the future of science and great organizational talent. His publications are widely represented in leading scientific domestic and foreign journals, and his scientometric indicators are in the first half of the TOP100 in the field of geophysics.
Yuri Olegovich pays much attention to the training of scientific personnel, currently being a professor of the Department of Geology and Mine Surveying at NRTU MISIS, the author of lecture courses and textbooks for students.
The geodetic community wishes Yuri Olegovich Kuzmin health, longevity, family happiness and further fruitful work aimed at the development of Russian science!
